In the recent decade, African countries have placed particular emphasis on the application of Indigenous Knowledge (IK) in their development plans. Some countries have debuted specific strategies on the protection and utilization of IK. The key points of the strategies include: to integrate IK into the fields of innovation, poverty alleviation，education, and to bring IK into the legislative system, government administrative institutions and operational mechanisms, and national building , etc.
