Soft power is an important resource for any state, particularly in the information age. As the only remaining superpower, the US not only boasts powerful military and economy, but also vast soft power resources. Since the end of the cold war, the US has solidified its “hard” power, but its soft power has fallen by the wayside, hurting its international image, diplomatic policy and national security. As a rising power, China can learn much from this experience and create a global environment conducive to its peaceful rise.
